Arimono is a top down, triangular shawl in two sizes. Alternating bands of chevron lace and stockinette are finished off with diamond lace and garter stitch. The triangular points of the lace fit neatly into the shaping of the shawl for a satisfyingly geometric design. Straightforward stitch patterns and lots of rest rows make this a nice way to ease into lace knitting. And the contrasts between lace, garter stitch, and stockinette are a beautiful way to showcase luxury yarns.

Construction Notes Arimono is worked from the top center and out to the edges. Both written and charted instructions are included, as well as tips on how to modify the size. Please read through the pattern before starting to familiarize yourself with the sequence of steps. When working with hand-dyed yarns, it's a good idea to alternate between skeins for a few rows when joining a new skein. Thank you to Deb Terrio for knitting the large shawl!
